Voor nu en nog eens

VOOR NU EN NOG EENS by FEMKE DOOVE

"Whenever I open a door, or when another one shuts somewhere else, I hear sounds I have been hearing my whole life: the lock of the wind shed, the kitchen door, the basement or living room door; they all have their own voice.

A horse neighing, the tickling of Jackdaws around the chimney, the doves in the linden tree. Old and new simultaneously.

I hear the train, it sounds so different when the wind comes from the east or when the fog hangs heavily in the polder.
What can go wrong, although the wind rages over the uncovered attic, although the rain patters the window sill."
